How Much Will it Cost?
How much an engagement ring costs will vary from ring to ring, and how much you choose to spend will vary from person to person, and there is no right or wrong answer.
DECIDING ON YOUR BUDGET
Unless you have a specific figure in mind to begin with regarding how much you think you should spend, it is best to go with your gut instinct. Have a think what you think feels like a fair and realistic amount to spend but won’t leave you over stretched and waking up in a panic in the middle of the night. Once you have this figure in mind, even if it is just a guess at this point, the next step would be to get in touch.
BE OPEN ABOUT YOUR BUDGET
Be open about your budget from the start and the sort of ideas you have in mind. There is never any judgement on how much someone wishes to spend, but by being upfront you will soon start to understand whether your budget is realistic in terms of your expectations, and if it isn’t we can discuss whether the design or the budget needs reconsidering and look at all options available.
STARTING PRICES
As a guide, a bespoke engagement ring with a single gemstone will start from around £2,000. With a single 0.50ct round brilliant cut diamond the price would start from around £3,000 and with a 1.0ct diamond the price would start from around £9,000, and could even be upwards of £30,000 depending on the quality of the stone. With this vast difference in price, you can see how helpful it is to have a budget to work to in order to narrow down initial searches and provide useful advice about design options and materials. There are many stone options available, different sizes and different quality stones, and I will always work with you to maximise your budget, no matter how big or small.
IT ISN’T ALL ABOUT THE MONEY
However, with all of this in mind, and whilst price is obviously an important factor, do remember this: I am a big believer that it isn’t all about the money that goes into the jewellery. What is hugely important and should never be under estimated is the thought and care that went into it - the time you have taken and the choices you have made. And all of that has no price tag at all.
