The Bespoke Design Service

My original bespoke design service involves creating a totally unique piece of jewellery from scratch. It starts with a blank piece of paper and through a series of conversations and sketches, designs are created and refined, the perfect stones are sourced and your precious piece is brought to life.

UNDERSTANDING THE COMMISSION

I hold meetings in a relaxed environment at my home as well as regularly working with client’s remotely via video call, some as far away as Japan. As an expert in bespoke jewellery design, I understand the importance of every aspect that goes into designing your jewellery and I love getting to know you and understanding exactly what it is you are looking for.  Whether it’s based on a long-held idea, a fleeting thought, or something you haven’t even dreamed about yet, I will work with you at our first meeting to translate ideas into sketches and you will start to see your jewellery come to life.

SELECTING YOUR STONE

With your budget in mind, I will find the best stone for you. This will typically mean sourcing a selection of stones that maximise the value of your budget and display the best characteristics. Whether we are working face to face so you can see the stones in person, or remotely through the power of video and photograph, I personally assess and inspect each and every stone so I can provide genuine and personalised advice that is helpful to you when choosing.

HAND DRAWN ILLUSTRATIONS

Our ongoing conversations will help refine the design concept and the details and once you are happy, I will translate this into a technical design illustration so you are able to see how your piece will look.  I believe bespoke jewellery should tell a personal story and I will work with you until your design is exactly the way you want it to be, and nothing less.

3D IMAGES

The next stage involves modelling the design illustration with 3D computer aided design (CAD). This allows you to see fully rendered 3D images of how your piece of jewellery will look, and which will form the blueprint for the finished piece. Further tweaks and adjustments can be made at this stage, which is the final check point before your design heads into the workshop to be created.

CRAFTED IN THE WORKSHOP

Once in the workshop, the expert hands of master craftsmen and craftswomen will work tirelessly to ensure your piece of jewellery is finished to perfection. Using a combination of time-honoured traditional techniques alongside contemporary modern-day technology, each piece commands a huge amount of time and skill.  Timeframes for a bespoke piece are typically 8 weeks but do still get in touch if you are working to a shorter timeframe, and I will do what I can to help.
